QUILTING ALL YEAR LONG

Today is the last day of April, 2012.

The quilt show is already over, all the beautiful quilts are now back to their owners. Mine ---- My favorite quilt, won 3rd place in the baby/crib quilt category by the judges and then won 2nd in the People's Choice vote in the same category !  I am so excited!
Now time to make a new one especially for the show next year. ;)

In the mean time.....
This year is going by so fast already. Seems like we were just wishing the cold weather would go away. This week, at least here, it will reach 88 degrees!  What will summer be like?

So, with the temps being so high, how many of you continue to work on quilts? How many of you still cut out all the pieces, sew them up into a brand new design, then put all the layers together and quilt it, then add the binding and sit with a large quilt on our lap and hand stitch the binding on? All while the temps sore higher and higher.

There is an easier way! Let me do it for you!
I quilt all year round. From designing them to sewing the binding on. I can also just do the finish work for you on the quilt tops you have finished. Contact us to get them done over the summer so you have them ready for gifts throughout the year and early for Christmas!

Have questions about quilting? Ask me. If I don't know the answer, I can find it out for you and point you in the right direction for the answer.  There are times when we all end up stuck with a method, a direction in the pattern, or some other problem in quilting. While the internet is a great source of information there are times when we just don't know who to ask the right question for the search to lead to the right answer. I'm good at figuring out what you mean by your questions and can locate the place for your answer.

Happy Quilting!  I'll be in touch again soon!

Quilt Show Begins

Good Friday Morning all.  The quilt show starts today at the Appalachian Fairgrounds in Gray, TN. Yesterday the quilts were judged and just as I was finishing setting up and ready to leave I decided to walk around to look one more time at all the beautiful quilts that were on display and that were being judged.
So many beautiful quilts! So much talent! So much time spend on making them by the quilters!
THEN - I saw ----- I WON - Third place in the Baby Quilt category!  I'm so excited!!!
This quilt is my own design, has become my logo for this blog, and others have bought the pattern from me already.
So those who have the pattern - you now can say that the pattern was used in a quilt that won thrid place at a quilt show!
Those who don't have the pattern, but would like one, can go to Quilter's Pantry shop web site to purchase it.

Well, having shared that exciting news, I now need to get ready to head to the show.

Hope to see you there!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Mini Cabinets...

It's been a busy week so far. The fabric/craft department at our Walmart is expanding and all of the merchandise is also being moved from one location to another. Not an easy task.
In addition I've been preparing for a quilt show at the end of this month. Making some of my mini cabinets with all the miniature goodies inside. This one above is a sample of the variety that I've been making.
They are cute to collect, or give as a gift to the quilter in your family who has everything she/he needs.
They will be posted for sale after the show.

I hope you all are having a great week so far.

Good Friday morning! It's Friday the 13th!  Since I have no superstitions it's going to be a good day. I have to head to work, but know that my heart is with you all here.  It's been a busy week and next week will even be busier. I hope to post some pics over the weekend on new projects, ---- new mini cabinets! And the latest quilt.
Hoping everyone has a great day and a blessed weekend.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter.
May you enjoy your day with family and friends today.
Many may have made it to sunrise service to worship and watch the sun rise.
Many will attend church to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
Many will spend time with the little ones in hiding and finding the eggs, finding the Easter baskets, eating lots of chocolate.
And many may just be staying home spending time quietly with a small family or even alone.

To each of you - May God Bless.

We are headed to church, then out to eat, then a walk in the park and then.... we will see what the day holds for us.  A rare time of neither of us working and able to take time to relax.

Have a wonderful day.

After the show, where I was able to sell a couple of these and a few baby bibs, handed out several of my cards and saw some old friends and met new people, here is a sample of what is still available.  You can find them in the Quilter's Pantry shop on the web site.

Bibs also got a lot of good feedback.

Now we prepare for the next show while also continuing to work on the quilt for Relay for Life.

Today though - rested from sewing/quilting.   Once in a while it's good to not be pushing myself to get things done.

Tomorrow it is back to work.
